According to Wikipedia: "Remix culture is a term employed by Lawrence Lessing and other copyright activists to describe a
society which allows and encourages derivative works. Such a culture would be by default, permissive of efforts to improve
upon, change, integrate, or otherwise remix the work of copyright holders."
In our environment we are immersed in visual information, we are surrounded by images of all sorts and in all forms of
visual language. This is an ideal environment for the collage artist to explore the meaning and purpose of images through
the recombining/remixing methods. The remixing causes accidental juxtapositions, ambiguities and arbitarinesses that are
given meaning by the viewer in a Rorschachian way.
